Plans for a 10,000+ outdoor concert at the JW Marriott’s Lake Rosseau resort on Labour Day weekend have been cancelled and moved to Niagara Falls.

At the May 15th Township of Muskoka Lakes Council meeting, the JW Marriott’s representative, Mr. Michael DiCienzo, announced that this 10,000+ person concert has been moved to Niagara Falls “to the enjoyment of the residents of Niagara Falls which was [welcomed by] Niagara Parks Commission, Mayor Jim Diodati and the entire Township with open arms.”

Our community’s letter objecting to this proposed concert was signed by over 1,300 Muskoka residents through LookingAfterMuskoka@gmail.com and supported by the MLA, Friends of Muskoka and the Lake Rosseau North Association. The letter is on public record by being included in the meeting’s Agenda package.
The JW Marriott also announced that they are proposing a smaller concert on the Canada Day long weekend “well within the capacity of what this space can already hold”. We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more.
